Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which rose 2.69% or 1.23 points to trade at 46.83 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 2.33% or 2.40 points to end at 105.30 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) was up 1.98% or 0.92 points to 47.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PA:TECF), which lost 2.11% or 1.12 points to trade at 51.85 in late trade. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 2.01% or 0.28 points to end at 13.41 and Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA (PA:ESSI) shed 1.32% or 1.50 points to 112.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which rose 5.12% to 6.115, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which was up 3.81% to settle at 28.760 and Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which gained 3.50% to close at 44.94.
The worst performers were Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 2.11% to 51.85 in late trade, Orange SA (PA:ORAN) which lost 2.01% to settle at 13.41 and Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which was down 1.72% to 20.05 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 333 to 307 and 121 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.10% to 19.37.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.42% or 5.55 to $1316.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.71% or 1.21 to hit $43.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.21 to trade at $45.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.8431.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.70.
