Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.26% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA), which rose 1.57% or 0.30 points to trade at 19.35 at the close. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 1.50% or 0.06 points to end at 4.28 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) was up 1.22% or 0.11 points to 9.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 4.62% or 0.56 points to trade at 11.68 in late trade. Qt Group Oyj (HE:QTCOM) declined 3.71% or 2.55 points to end at 66.20 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 3.14% or 0.31 points to 9.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 65 and 24 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.12% or 0.82 to $74.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.71% or 0.50 to hit $70.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 10.44 to trade at $2,651.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 106.88.
