Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which rose 2.92% or 1.35 points to trade at 47.65 at the close. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.69% or 0.32 points to end at 19.22 and Kemira Oyj (HE:KEMIRA) was up 1.03% or 0.22 points to 21.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which lost 1.52% or 0.47 points to trade at 30.42 in late trade. Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) declined 1.20% or 0.08 points to end at 6.16 and Stora Enso Oyj R (HE:STERV) shed 1.04% or 0.12 points to 11.38.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 81 and 24 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.79% or 1.36 to $77.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.79% or 1.29 to hit $73.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.17% or 29.75 to trade at $2,517.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 101.36.
