Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.88% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Sampo Oyj A (HE:SAMPO), which rose 2.59% or 1.13 points to trade at 44.82 at the close. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) added 1.99% or 0.45 points to end at 23.10 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.89% or 0.31 points to 16.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 1.04% or 0.0900 points to trade at 8.6050 in late trade. Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) declined 0.80% or 0.032 points to end at 3.984 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) shed 0.56% or 0.22 points to 38.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.41% or 0.81 to $56.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.55% or 0.81 to hit $51.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.23 to trade at $1289.03 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1781, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8765.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.03.
