Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.87% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 3.89% or 0.138 points to trade at 3.683 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 3.53% or 0.1330 points to end at 3.9000 and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) was up 3.25% or 1.05 points to 33.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA), which lost 1.48% or 0.57 points to trade at 37.91 in late trade. Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) declined 1.10% or 0.21 points to end at 18.84 and DNA Oyj (HE:DNAO) shed 0.72% or 0.1300 points to 17.8200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 4.00% or 2.35 to $61.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 4.42% or 2.20 to hit $51.98 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.80 to trade at $1289.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.80% to 1.1531, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.9029.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 94.877.
