Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 4.90% or 0.355 points to trade at 7.605 at the close. Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) added 2.87% or 0.2280 points to end at 8.1800 and Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) was up 2.08% or 0.47 points to 23.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 4.47% or 1.55 points to trade at 33.09 in late trade. Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) declined 2.25% or 1.26 points to end at 54.70 and Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) shed 0.73% or 0.40 points to 54.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 54 and 15 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.21% or 0.82 to $68.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.64% or 1.01 to hit $62.74 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.64% or 8.50 to trade at $1311.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1921, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 92.33.
