Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 7.35% or 0.565 points to trade at 8.250 at the close. Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) added 1.53% or 0.42 points to end at 27.93 and Valmt (HE:VALMT) was up 1.38% or 0.28 points to 20.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which lost 1.62% or 0.45 points to trade at 27.28 in late trade. Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) declined 1.03% or 0.33 points to end at 31.81 and Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) shed 0.56% or 0.021 points to 3.759.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 70 and 16 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.96% or 1.41 to $70.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.70% or 1.05 to hit $60.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1224.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1407, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8705.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 96.17.
