Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 3.24% or 0.1520 points to trade at 4.8400 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.85% or 0.158 points to end at 5.710 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) was up 1.67% or 0.64 points to 38.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V), which lost 2.22% or 0.62 points to trade at 27.28 in late trade. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) declined 1.10% or 0.051 points to end at 4.581 and Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM) shed 1.02% or 0.23 points to 22.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 60 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.91% or 0.72 to $79.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.96% or 1.36 to hit $70.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 7.40 to trade at $1209.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1627, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.84.
