Proactive Investors - ECR Minerals PLC (LON:ECRE) said pan sampling of its Lolworth Creek project in Queensland continues to return gold, niobium and tantalum indications.
One prospect, Reedy Creek, showed the presence of gold, while ECR is now looking for a range of rare earths across the Lolworth area following earlier signs of niobium and tantalum.
ECR has now collected a total of 628 pan concentrate samples since the beginning of exploration at Lolworth in 2022 and while not indicative of an in-situ resource within the creek itself, the collective results show gold is present in these creeks and the sources could be present in the headwaters of these stream drainages, the company said in a statement.
Next steps are for assay results on rock chips from outcrop sampling and pXRF analysis on soil samples, it said.
Andrew Haythorpe, chief executive, commented: “The detail now provided by the numerous gold, niobium and tantalum results generated from this work are enabling us to zero in on the sources and the high potential locations in order that we can delineate drill targets.”
“ECR’s Lolworth project continues to exceed expectations. Meanwhile, we expect to report further results from our projects within a week.”
