Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 3.44%, while the SZSE Component index declined 3.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Golden Eagle SS (SS:600232), which rose 10.06% or 0.700 points to trade at 7.660 at the close. Sanan Optoelec (SS:600703) added 10.01% or 3.010 points to end at 33.090 and Yingliu Electr (SS:603308) was up 10.00% or 3.270 points to 35.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Insigma (SS:600797), which lost 10.02% or 2.600 points to trade at 23.360 in late trade. Cn Railway Con (SS:601186) declined 10.02% or 2.140 points to end at 19.220 and Grand Orient (SS:600327) shed 10.01% or 1.790 points to 16.100.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Suning Commerce Group Co Ltd (SZ:002024) which rose 0.67% to 20.91, Yunnan Baiyao Group Co Ltd (SZ:000538) which was up 0.67% to settle at 84.17 and Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) which unchanged 0% to close at 44.55.
The worst performers were Iflytek Co Ltd (SZ:002230) which was down 8.09% to 46.10 in late trade, TCL Corp (SZ:000100) which lost 5.88% to settle at 7.04 and Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002236) which was down 5.55% to 38.48 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 801 to 154 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 3.39% to 31.12.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1184.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.78% or 0.47 to hit $60.47 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.04 to trade at $63.99 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.02% to 6.2078, while EUR/CNY rose 0.22% to 7.0220.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 94.98.
