Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 1.21%, while the SZSE Component index lost 1.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Henan Pinggao Electric Co Ltd (SS:600312), which rose 10.08% or 0.500 points to trade at 5.460 at the close. SEC Electric Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603988) added 10.04% or 1.15 points to end at 12.60 and Shangying Global Co Ltd (SS:600146) was up 10.02% or 0.96 points to 10.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jiangsu Yangnong Chemical Co Ltd (SS:600486), which lost 10.00% or 4.870 points to trade at 43.850 in late trade. Nanjing Central Emporium Group Stocks Co Ltd (SS:600280) declined 9.98% or 0.550 points to end at 4.960 and Shen Ma Industry Co Ltd (SS:600810) shed 9.98% or 1.740 points to 15.700.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Chongqing Pharscin Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:002907) which rose 9.99% to 26.75, XJ Electric Co Ltd (SZ:000400) which was up 9.96% to settle at 8.17 and Tangshan Jidong Cement Co Ltd (SZ:000401) which gained 4.15% to close at 10.28.
The worst performers were Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing Co Ltd (SZ:002384) which was down 10.01% to 13.94 in late trade, Luxshare Precision Industry Co Ltd (SZ:002475) which lost 10.01% to settle at 16.09 and Shenzhen O-Film Tech Co Ltd (SZ:002456) which was down 10.00% to 14.31 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1241 to 170 and 32 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 0.98% to 24.72.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.80 to $1198.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.69% or 0.47 to hit $68.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.75 to trade at $77.58 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.23% to 6.8604, while EUR/CNY rose 0.21% to 7.9239.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 95.38.
