Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 1.11% to hit a new 3-year low, while the SZSE Component index fell 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Dalian Thermal Power Co Ltd (SS:600719), which rose 10.12% or 0.430 points to trade at 4.680 at the close. Zhejiang Shengyang Science & Technology Co Ltd (SS:603703) added 10.05% or 0.830 points to end at 9.090 and Changchun Gas Co Ltd (SS:600333) was up 10.02% or 0.640 points to 7.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nantong Acetic Acid Chemical Co Ltd (SS:603968), which lost 10.01% or 1.660 points to trade at 14.930 in late trade. Yaxing Chem (SS:600319) declined 9.98% or 0.480 points to end at 4.330 and DELIXI XINJIANG Transportation Co Ltd (SS:603032) shed 9.98% or 3.04 points to 27.41.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shenzhen Das Intellitech Co Ltd (SZ:002421) which rose 4.75% to 3.750, Hangzhou Shunwang Tech (SZ:300113) which was up 4.59% to settle at 15.95 and Shandong Qixing Iron Tower Co Ltd (SZ:002359) which gained 4.08% to close at 8.17.
The worst performers were Chuying Agro-Pastoral Group Co Ltd (SZ:002477) which was down 10.15% to 2.39 in late trade, Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co Ltd (SZ:000825) which lost 10.07% to settle at 5.180 and Meisheng Cultural & Creative Corp Ltd (SZ:002699) which was down 10.03% to 11.03 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1192 to 212 and 46 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 23.02.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1200.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $69.03 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.25 to trade at $78.34 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.00% to 6.8703, while EUR/CNY rose 0.09% to 7.9910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.46.
