Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments & Services, Media and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.35%, while the SZSE Component index fell 0.97%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Huafang Co Ltd (SS:600448), which rose 10.12% or 0.430 points to trade at 4.680 at the close. Zhenhai Petrochemical Engineering Co Ltd (SS:603637) added 10.04% or 1.36 points to end at 14.91 and Founder Technology Group Co Ltd (SS:600601) was up 10.04% or 0.280 points to 3.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Henan Oriental Silver Star Investment Co Ltd (SS:600753), which lost 10.00% or 2.34 points to trade at 21.07 in late trade. Shen Ma Industry Co Ltd (SS:600810) declined 7.54% or 1.470 points to end at 18.020 and Jiangsu Yulong Steel Pipe Co Ltd (SS:601028) shed 7.11% or 0.450 points to 5.880.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tianguang Fire-Fighting Co Ltd (SZ:002509) which rose 10.12% to 2.83, Shenzhen Tatfook Tech (SZ:300134) which was up 10.02% to settle at 11.75 and Kingenta Ecological Engineering Group Co Ltd (SZ:002470) which gained 10.01% to close at 7.47.
The worst performers were Huawen Media Investment Corp (SZ:000793) which was down 10.00% to 6.12 in late trade, Hand Enterprise Solutions Co (SZ:300170) which lost 10.00% to settle at 14.40 and Bohai Leasing Co Ltd (SZ:000415) which was down 8.94% to 4.79 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 826 to 499 and 94 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.32.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.33% or 4.00 to $1223.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.73% or 0.49 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.70 to trade at $71.46 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.06% to 6.7113, while EUR/CNY fell 0.28% to 7.7992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.03.
