Investing.com – China equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Gas, Water & Multiutilities, Telecoms and Mobile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 2.83% to hit a new 3-year high, while the SZSE Component index gained 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Ba Yi Steel (SS:600581), which rose 10.06% or 0.860 points to trade at 9.410 at the close. Xinjiang Tiany (SS:600075) added 10.04% or 1.16 points to end at 12.71 and Gong Da Tech (SS:600701) was up 10.04% or 1.190 points to 13.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sunyard (SS:600571), which lost 6.00% or 9.330 points to trade at 146.200 in late trade. Winsan Indus (SS:600767) declined 5.31% or 1.590 points to end at 28.330 and Comm City (SS:600306) shed 4.42% or 1.18 points to 25.50.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Leshi Internet Info Tech (SZ:300104) which rose 10.00% to 80.39, BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000725) which was up 7.18% to settle at 4.63 and Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Co Ltd (SZ:000069) which gained 4.69% to close at 10.27.
The worst performers were Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002236) which was down 2.84% to 45.15 in late trade, Goertek Inc (SZ:002241) which lost 0.88% to settle at 38.43 and ZTE Corp (SZ:000063) which was down 0.18% to 32.92 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 729 to 235 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.09% to 28.08.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.56% or 6.80 to $1210.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $60.55 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.16 to trade at $66.38 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.03% to 6.1986, while EUR/CNY rose 0.52% to 6.9214.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 95.14.
