Investing.com – China equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mobile and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.91%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Xiamen XGMA Machinery Co Ltd (SS:600815), which rose 10.12% or 0.410 points to trade at 4.460 at the close. Shanghai Laiyifen Co Ltd (SS:603777) added 10.02% or 1.740 points to end at 19.100 and Chongqing Wanli New Energy Co Ltd (SS:600847) was up 10.02% or 1.240 points to 13.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Henan Rebecca Hair Products Co Ltd (SS:600439), which lost 10.00% or 0.530 points to trade at 4.770 in late trade. Shenji Group Kunming Machine Tool Co Ltd (SS:600806) declined 10.00% or 0.250 points to end at 2.250 and Changyuan Group Ltd (SS:600525) shed 9.99% or 1.600 points to 14.420.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Cofco Biochemical Anhui Co Ltd (SZ:000930) which rose 10.01% to 10.88, Hangzhou Tigermed Consulting (SZ:300347) which was up 10.01% to settle at 60.67 and Shenwu Environmental Tech (SZ:300156) which gained 9.97% to close at 8.38.
The worst performers were Hunan China Sun Pharma Machinery (SZ:300216) which was down 10.05% to 7.52 in late trade, Betta Pharmaceuticals Co Ltd (SZ:300558) which lost 4.46% to settle at 62.77 and Tianjin Chase Sun Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:300026) which was down 4.24% to 3.84 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 986 to 334 and 65 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 19.40.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1302.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.34 to hit $66.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.28 to trade at $76.74 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.02% to 6.4005, while EUR/CNY rose 0.14% to 7.5541.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.52.
