Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 22.54% or 1.51 points to trade at 8.21 at the close. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 6.03% or 2.10 points to end at 36.95 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) was up 5.61% or 0.81 points to 15.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which lost 4.09% or 0.46 points to trade at 10.80 in late trade. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 3.68% or 0.36 points to end at 9.42 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) shed 3.23% or 0.57 points to 17.06.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 185 to 170 and 34 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.28% to 42.49.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 1.92 to $1255.02 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 5.24% or 2.69 to hit $48.67 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.79% or 1.02 to trade at $129.47 .
USD/BRL was up 0.06% to 3.2794, while EUR/BRL fell 0.04% to 3.6756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.16.
