Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3), which rose 1.70% or 0.96 points to trade at 57.32 at the close. B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:B3SA3) added 1.53% or 0.15 points to end at 9.93 and WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) was up 1.22% or 0.67 points to 55.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which lost 11.59% or 0.27 points to trade at 2.06 in late trade. Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3) declined 8.14% or 0.21 points to end at 2.37 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) shed 7.22% or 0.34 points to 4.37.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 506 to 467 and 34 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.02% to 29.68.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 5.24 to $2,653.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.65% or 1.13 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 5.36% or 16.80 to trade at $330.30 .
USD/BRL was up 1.31% to 6.09, while EUR/BRL rose 1.06% to 6.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 105.96.
