Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6), which rose 5.61% or 1.24 points to trade at 23.33 at the close. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) added 4.22% or 0.78 points to end at 19.25 and Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) was up 3.95% or 3.00 points to 79.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which lost 5.11% or 1.73 points to trade at 32.12 in late trade. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) declined 4.78% or 1.41 points to end at 28.10 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) shed 3.47% or 0.32 points to 8.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 230 to 212 and 43 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.22% to 26.53.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.51% or 6.70 to $1324.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $68.03 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.00% or 2.39 to trade at $121.92 .
USD/BRL was down 0.39% to 3.4617, while EUR/BRL fell 0.16% to 4.1991.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 91.32.
