Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3), which rose 4.31% or 1.55 points to trade at 37.50 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 4.22% or 0.51 points to end at 12.60 and Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) was up 3.97% or 3.05 points to 79.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which lost 4.06% or 2.11 points to trade at 49.82 in late trade. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) declined 2.91% or 0.29 points to end at 9.66 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) shed 2.28% or 0.46 points to 19.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 229 to 139 and 35 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.22% to 27.43.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.21% or 2.66 to $1283.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.10% or 0.13 to trade at $124.17 .
USD/BRL was up 0.01% to 3.1713, while EUR/BRL rose 0.03% to 3.7397.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.30.
