Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Electric Power and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.29% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4), which rose 4.02% or 0.65 points to trade at 16.80 at the close. RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) added 3.67% or 0.49 points to end at 13.85 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was up 3.22% or 0.33 points to 10.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magazine Luiza SA (SA:MGLU3), which lost 4.16% or 3.45 points to trade at 79.54 in late trade. Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) declined 3.23% or 2.04 points to end at 61.05 and Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) shed 2.47% or 1.67 points to 65.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 259 to 185 and 31 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.90% to 29.81.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.45% or 6.00 to $1325.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.08% or 0.67 to hit $61.12 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.86% or 1.03 to trade at $118.92 .
USD/BRL was up 0.50% to 3.2721, while EUR/BRL rose 0.09% to 4.0203.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 90.00.
