Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.28% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Klabin Unt (BVMF:KLBN11), which rose 3.71% or 0.79 points to trade at 22.08 at the close. Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) added 3.61% or 0.62 points to end at 17.79 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 3.00% or 0.14 points to 4.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which lost 5.14% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.03 in late trade. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) declined 4.11% or 0.44 points to end at 10.27 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) shed 4.02% or 0.21 points to 5.01.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 535 to 381 and 56 ended unchanged on the B3 Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.26% to 25.54.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 13.20 to $2,554.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.60% or 0.44 to hit $73.22 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.70% or 1.70 to trade at $246.05 .
USD/BRL was up 1.18% to 5.48, while EUR/BRL rose 1.70% to 6.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 101.23.
