Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 7.50% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.215 at the close. Sider (LM:SID) added 7.41% or 0.014 points to end at 0.203 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 3.45% or 0.030 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 5.81% or 0.330 points to trade at 5.350 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 1.82% or 0.005 points to end at 0.270 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 1.59% or 0.110 points to 6.790.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 5 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.88% or 1.11 to $37.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $39.71 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.87% or 23.60 to trade at $1235.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3405, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7327.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 96.60.
