Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.68% or 0.185 points to trade at 11.220 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) added 1.66% or 0.505 points to end at 30.970 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.64% or 0.340 points to 53.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 1.92% or 0.96 points to trade at 49.20 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 1.77% or 0.41 points to end at 22.80 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) shed 1.71% or 0.92 points to 52.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 72 to 69 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.15 to $1312.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.04% or 1.41 to hit $44.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.08% or 1.50 to trade at $47.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.95.
