Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 2.50% or 1.12 points to trade at 46.12 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.06% or 0.700 points to end at 66.860 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 0.99% or 0.650 points to 66.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 1.38% or 0.18 points to trade at 13.21 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 0.99% or 0.55 points to end at 55.15 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 0.88% or 0.86 points to 96.71.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 48 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.20% or 2.50 to $1243.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.29% or 0.58 to hit $45.51 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 0.53 to trade at $48.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1410, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8774.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 95.49.
