Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 3.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which fell 0.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 109.00 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) fell 1.31% or 0.98 points to end at 74.02 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was down 1.31% or 1.20 points to 90.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 14.19% or 1.21 points to trade at 7.32 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 5.48% or 5.28 points to end at 91.06 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 4.99% or 0.530 points to 10.090.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 102 to 15 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 4.05 to $1246.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.48% or 1.84 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.53% or 2.17 to trade at $59.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1385, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.683.
