Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.67% or 0.12 points to trade at 18.06 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.43% or 0.24 points to end at 56.62 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.09% or 0.10 points to 107.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 6.48% or 5.20 points to trade at 75.00 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 5.93% or 1.53 points to end at 24.25 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 4.49% or 4.53 points to 96.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 25 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.00 to $1223.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 5.14% or 2.94 to hit $54.26 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.23% or 3.49 to trade at $63.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1386, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 96.54.
