Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.98% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 145.80 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) fell 0.63% or 0.42 points to end at 65.96 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 0.74% or 0.68 points to 90.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 4.42% or 3.040 points to trade at 65.720 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 3.44% or 0.450 points to end at 12.618 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 2.29% or 1.88 points to 80.11.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 19 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.70 to $1303.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.61% or 1.77 to hit $66.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.44 to trade at $74.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1556, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 94.72.
