Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 1.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 1.67% or 1.50 points to trade at 91.10 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell 0.03% or 0.02 points to end at 62.08 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was down 0.31% or 0.04 points to 12.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 3.94% or 0.67 points to trade at 16.34 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.99% or 0.306 points to end at 9.912 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 2.51% or 1.520 points to 58.940.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 30 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.49% or 6.10 to $1247.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.79% or 0.92 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.48 to trade at $59.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.625.
