Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.37% or 0.18 points to trade at 13.31 at the close. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.38% or 0.40 points to end at 104.70 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.34% or 0.12 points to 35.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 22.02% or 6.14 points to trade at 21.74 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.82% or 0.64 points to end at 22.06 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 1.61% or 1.200 points to 73.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 35 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.14% or 1.80 to $1325.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $60.73 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $64.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.2374, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.70.
