Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 0.88% or 0.70 points to trade at 80.20 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.77% or 0.36 points to end at 47.10 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.22% or 0.100 points to 44.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (BR:ACKB), which lost 4.18% or 6.70 points to trade at 153.60 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 2.73% or 0.35 points to end at 12.63 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.98% or 1.63 points to 80.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 34 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1205.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.56% or 0.39 to hit $69.86 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.27 to trade at $77.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8950.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 95.12.
