Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 0.85% or 1.40 points to trade at 166.60 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) added 0.74% or 0.70 points to end at 95.90 and Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) was up 0.70% or 1.30 points to 186.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 5.79% or 0.67 points to trade at 10.90 in late trade. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) declined 4.95% or 3.91 points to end at 75.03 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 4.69% or 1.32 points to 26.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 29 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.30% or 34.70 to $2,631.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.46% or 3.44 to hit $73.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.45% or 3.60 to trade at $77.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 102.31.
