Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.20% or 1.440 points to trade at 66.840 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.91% or 0.37 points to end at 40.82 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.22% or 0.04 points to 17.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which lost 2.59% or 1.25 points to trade at 47.08 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 2.18% or 1.74 points to end at 78.10 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 1.98% or 0.27 points to 13.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 37 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1203.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.07% or 1.58 to hit $74.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 1.17 to trade at $85.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1504, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 95.46.
