Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 1.87% or 0.20 points to trade at 10.90 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.64% or 8.40 points to end at 520.60 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 0.50% or 0.35 points to 70.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 3.67% or 3.50 points to trade at 91.90 in late trade. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 1.84% or 1.15 points to end at 61.35 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) shed 1.70% or 2.95 points to 171.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 32 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 14.85 to $2,753.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.84% or 1.99 to hit $72.03 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.96 to trade at $76.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.89.
