Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 2.60% or 1.60 points to trade at 63.24 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.56% or 0.15 points to end at 27.67 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.28% or 0.30 points to 108.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 4.94% or 2.22 points to trade at 42.71 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.98% or 0.71 points to end at 35.15 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) shed 1.42% or 2.10 points to 146.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 38 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.63% or 8.14 to $1295.44 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.42% or 0.84 to hit $58.11 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $63.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1917, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8937.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 92.72.
