Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 1.09% or 0.48 points to trade at 44.79 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.74% or 0.10 points to end at 14.39 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.19% or 0.20 points to 107.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.62% or 1.370 points to trade at 83.250 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.21% or 0.860 points to end at 70.120 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 0.78% or 0.19 points to 24.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 52 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.60 to $1299.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.22 to trade at $56.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1955, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.8839.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 91.90.
