Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.37% or 0.91 points to trade at 39.35 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 2.03% or 1.47 points to end at 74.03 and Elia (EBR:ELI) was up 1.35% or 1.30 points to 97.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which lost 5.02% or 1.18 points to trade at 22.34 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 3.89% or 0.26 points to end at 6.42 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) shed 1.87% or 3.30 points to 173.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 48 to 44 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 23.90 to $2,731.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.83% or 1.29 to hit $69.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.76% or 1.31 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 103.40.
