Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.32% or 0.89 points to trade at 39.32 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 1.81% or 0.12 points to end at 6.74 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.18% or 0.75 points to 64.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC), which lost 1.33% or 0.92 points to trade at 68.46 in late trade. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) declined 1.21% or 2.10 points to end at 171.20 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) shed 0.93% or 0.56 points to 59.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 49 to 45 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 5.40 to $2,684.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $70.39 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $74.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.27.
