Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 1.00% or 0.80 points to trade at 81.00 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 0.69% or 0.54 points to end at 79.30 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.67% or 0.300 points to 44.880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 19.50% or 4.82 points to trade at 19.90 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.76% or 0.660 points to end at 86.500 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 0.63% or 0.51 points to 80.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 44 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1207.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.44% or 0.31 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.55 to trade at $78.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1615, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.07.
