Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.36% or 0.96 points to trade at 41.56 at the close. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) added 1.24% or 1.14 points to end at 92.80 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 1.10% or 0.780 points to 71.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 4.08% or 0.90 points to trade at 21.14 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 3.46% or 2.86 points to end at 79.86 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.78% or 0.19 points to 24.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 36 and 20 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.53% or 6.90 to $1319.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.24% or 0.17 to hit $70.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1910, while EUR/GBP rose 0.80% to 0.8818.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 92.63.
