Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Beverage sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 1.89% or 1.38 points to trade at 74.45 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 1.25% or 0.70 points to end at 56.70 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 0.79% or 0.25 points to 31.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which lost 2.71% or 0.56 points to trade at 20.14 in late trade. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) declined 2.24% or 1.30 points to end at 56.65 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) shed 2.01% or 4.40 points to 214.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 57 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.66% or 17.69 to $2,658.51 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $68.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.82.
