Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 5.43% or 4.580 points to trade at 88.920 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) added 2.04% or 1.60 points to end at 79.90 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 1.33% or 1.00 points to 76.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 1.50% or 1.16 points to trade at 76.23 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.36% or 0.152 points to end at 11.004 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 1.11% or 0.15 points to 13.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 54 and 25 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1200.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.53% or 1.71 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.89% or 1.46 to trade at $78.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1588, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.20.
