Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.21% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BR:DELB), which rose 1.26% or 1.19 points to trade at 95.32 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.91% or 0.39 points to end at 42.90 and Elia (BR:ELI) was up 0.79% or 0.360 points to 45.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which lost 0.82% or 0.38 points to trade at 45.37 in late trade. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 0.52% or 0.40 points to end at 76.13 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 0.41% or 0.37 points to 90.79.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.58% or 7.10 to $1213.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.46% or 0.23 to hit $49.25 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.37 to trade at $49.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1132, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7606.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 95.53.
