Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.02% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.25% or 1.30 points to trade at 105.30 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.16% or 0.48 points to end at 41.76 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.57% or 0.13 points to 23.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.74% or 0.177 points to trade at 9.968 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 0.91% or 0.410 points to end at 44.860 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) shed 0.44% or 0.22 points to 50.19.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 34 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.70 to $1328.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.49% or 1.10 to hit $43.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.19% or 1.01 to trade at $45.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0983, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8361.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 97.38.
