Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 2.34% or 1.88 points to trade at 81.98 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 2.24% or 0.284 points to end at 12.946 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 2.16% or 0.48 points to 22.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sofina (BR:SOF), which lost 0.40% or 0.60 points to trade at 147.60 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 0.24% or 0.11 points to end at 45.37 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) gained 0.09% or 0.10 points to 107.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 46 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1304.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.68% or 0.45 to hit $66.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $76.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 93.55.
