Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 2.06% or 3.45 points to trade at 171.10 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) added 1.71% or 1.05 points to end at 62.50 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 1.56% or 0.36 points to 23.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which lost 1.77% or 0.12 points to trade at 6.66 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.14% or 0.30 points to end at 26.00 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) shed 0.63% or 0.45 points to 70.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 50 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.41% or 37.15 to $2,676.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.73% or 0.55 to hit $75.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.51 to trade at $78.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 102.65.
