Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 5.52% or 4.40 points to trade at 84.10 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 3.13% or 1.32 points to end at 43.49 and Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) was up 2.64% or 1.18 points to 45.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 1.75% or 1.30 points to trade at 72.84 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.39% or 0.32 points to end at 22.63 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 0.52% or 0.35 points to 66.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 30 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 3.20 to $1232.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.77% or 0.49 to hit $63.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $72.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.1379, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 96.37.
