Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.29% or 1.000 points to trade at 78.270 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 1.27% or 1.80 points to end at 143.00 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 1.11% or 0.49 points to 44.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 0.68% or 0.20 points to trade at 29.42 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.52% or 0.30 points to end at 57.59 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 0.46% or 0.50 points to 107.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 7.56 to $1329.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.20 to trade at $52.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1886, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.9163.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 92.63.
