Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 3.30% or 1.20 points to trade at 37.51 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) added 2.39% or 0.27 points to end at 11.58 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.45% or 1.00 points to 69.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which lost 3.77% or 18.80 points to trade at 480.50 in late trade. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 2.94% or 2.90 points to end at 95.60 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) shed 1.29% or 0.85 points to 64.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 32 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 7.35 to $2,671.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.63% or 1.20 to hit $74.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.10 to trade at $78.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 102.38.
