Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Banking and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 3.23% or 1.03 points to trade at 32.90 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 1.93% or 1.64 points to end at 86.54 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was up 1.28% or 0.32 points to 25.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elia (EBR:ELI), which lost 1.60% or 1.45 points to trade at 88.90 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.36% or 1.10 points to end at 79.60 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) shed 0.79% or 3.30 points to 416.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 45 to 41 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.10% or 25.40 to $2,338.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.59% or 0.48 to hit $81.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.41 to trade at $84.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.54.
