Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 2.34% or 1.14 points to trade at 49.88 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 0.91% or 0.42 points to end at 46.76 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 0.73% or 0.55 points to 76.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.44% or 2.550 points to trade at 102.000 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 2.09% or 3.60 points to end at 169.00 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.74% or 0.28 points to 37.31.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 52 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.30 to $1207.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.30% or 1.62 to hit $68.75 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.71% or 1.36 to trade at $78.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1674, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 94.62.
